Freestyle Motocross

Friday 7:30PM -

Everything is bigger in Texas and Beaumont was treated to a big flip competition in the Air Force Final between Javier Villegas and Dustin Nowak. Also in the final were Gabriel Villegas and Billy Walls with Gabriel starting the action off.

Gabriel sat in the hotseat first with an 87 to start the Air Force Final on Friday. Gabriel's runs have been getting better every week and with some more development he is sure to be onto to big things.  Next up was Bad Billy Walls who always impresses with huge tricks and excellent extension. He nearly lost it during the Racer X Qualifier when a turn down whip sent him off the side of the landing ramp! He jumped into the hotseat with a score of 90.  The Wacker - Dustin Nowak came out next and got the run started with a backflip. He did four flips in combinations and bumped Walls out of the hotseat with a 94. Out last with something to prove was Javier Villegas. He started his set with a flip and immediately got the crowd behind him. Some flip combos and extended tricks later - he won with a 95 with the only thing hurting Dustins score being slighty over rotated flips.

The Torco Team FMX had Billy Walls and Johnny Ebenol winning the fans approval as the crowd judged the event. Team is always about fun and the Billy/Johnny show was the most fun.  Hell on Wheels came out with the guys doing back and front flips to keep the folks on thier feet. The Sphere of Fear with Cody Ives and Mark Folk dazzled us all and on a side note it was Mark's 41st birthday!

Tomorrow night we will be doing it again here in Beaumont with the pit party too!

Saturday 7:30PM -

Night number two in Beaumont saw a bigger, louder crowd and the riders in the final made the fans stand on thier feet. Another flipping battle was inevitable, but no one knew that Javier Villegas and Dustin Nowak would take it a bit further.

First out in the Air Force Final was Javier who went for a back flip on his first hit. Earlier in the Racer X Qualifirer he crashed the landing doing the same One Hander Flip but nailed them all in the final. The kicker was when he flipped the ramp that no one had all weekend- even in practice! He scored a 90.5 and took his seat on the stage.  The "Heavy Hauler" Billy Walls came out next and wrestled his KTM like a bull over the 65 foot gaps but could only muster a 88 for a score.  Chris Taylor had a stellar night earning himself a new nickname- "Cardiac"- for the way he lands his tricks so late. His wheels are inches from touching the landing ramp and his feet and hands are not even close to where they should be giving him great hang time which the judges love and all of us cardiac arrest wondering if he will make it unscathed. He pulled a 89 from the judges which was not enough to get him to the hot seat. The last rider was hometown favorite Dustin "Wacker" Nowak. The Wacker knew he needed a solid run to beat Javier so he back flipped the other ramp on his first hit. He had not practiced a flip on that ramp either! The crowd went nuts as he finished out a great run to beat Javier by one half point with a 91!

Billy Walls and Javier Villegas got thrown together at the last second to win the Torco Team FMX Challange as judged by the crowd.  Those nuts from Hellonwheels.com came out and did the first ever back flip on the sub box while announcer Jeff stood on top! Luckily Jeff still has a head and his good(?) looks remain intact.  We also had our breath taken away by Cody Ives and Mark Folk with the Sphere of Fear and their crazy antics in the globe.

Time is running out to get entered into the SupercrossOnline Ultimate Giveaway! Get yourself entered to win one of four huge grand prizes at www.supercrossonline.com today!

Thanks for a some great shows Beaumont and I'll be seeing you all in Green Bay next week!
