The Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City was a great night for fmx tonight. The arena was packed and ready for some serious action at which the riders did not disapoint. All nine riders came out swinging but it was Jeff Banks, Billy Walls, Derek Burlew, and Sean Nielson that pulled out all the stops to make to the finals. The Energy Solutions Arena didn't just have FMX, they also brought in some of the best BMX riders the sport has to offer. Helping announce and over looking these 5050 BMX.com riders was legend Tim Fuzzy Hall. After BMX was, as always, a spectacular showing by the ten time national trials champion Geoff Aaron with a debut of his brand new four stroke Honda Montessa. Geoff showed the crowd things they never thought possible on a motorcycle. Then it was time for the finals. Sean Nielson came out with a great first run but his 87 points was not enough to beat the second rider out. Derek Burlew was quick to step up and take the OGIO hot seat wish his 89 point run. Derek hardly had a moment to get comfortable when he was knocked out by a great run by Billy Walls with his 90 point run, but I think Billy knew that the trend was to continue. After everyone saw the unbelievable run by Jeff Banks in the prelims, Jeff came with his eye on the prize with a few back flips in a row to start off his run. He had the crowd on their feet before they knew it and kept them there the whole run. With our winner settled and in the OGIO hot seat, it was time for the Plaza Cycle finally. All of the BMX riders, EREonline.com's Geoff Aaron and all of the FMX riders came out to thill the city of Salt Lake one more time. All and all, there wasn't a kid that left that didn't want to ride FMX or a dad the didn't wish he had.
