Dean, Trey

One of the elder statesmen in freestyle competition, Trey Deane calls Surprise, Arizona, home. But it’s definitely no surprise that Trey is a top competitor in freestyle motocross.

Trey has a deep background in racing Sprint cars, but he splits his time and focus between four and two wheels, and between an oval and a ramp. Deane’s freestyle career really took off in 2000, when he met a group of guys who shared a similar interest in freestyle.

“I just basically met the right group of people in Phoenix who started doing freestyle together,” he explains. “Guys like Jim McNeil, Niki Danielson, the Distler brothers, Craig Durkee, and Jeff Doetzer—we all started hanging out and riding together, and we all evolved from there.”

Some of Trey’s biggest achievements include participating in several freestyle events in Germany, along with doing a major event at Disneyland.

This year, Trey hopes to get the backflip under his belt and make the cut for the 2006 Dew Action Sports Tour.
