Nevada’s Tim O’Brien is another former professional motocross racer, and he’s consistently working at becoming one of the top freestylers.
“I rode nationals and did supercross from 1997 to ’99, and I was sponsored by SMP at that time,” explains O’Brien. “I was then invited down to Laguna Seca by the owner of SMP to do a freestyle exhibition, and I’ve been hooked ever since.”
In 2005, Tim recorded several top-five finishes in IFMA competition, but unfortunately, he was injured and had to miss the last two rounds of the series.
“I came up short on a 195-foot jump and ejected myself out in Caineville,” he says. “I tore my ACL and broke my wrist, but now I’m all healed up and looking forward to the 2006 season.”
