Hailing from Gresham, Oregon, it’s odd that Beau Bamburg even got into freestyle motocross. Oregon isn’t known for being a hotbed of freestyle, which means that Beau has to practice by himself, but it has paid off for this longtime Fox rider, as he has established himself as one of the top athletes in freestyle motocross today.
“I would practice tricks at the races during practice, and then they started having halftime jump contests,” says Beau about his start in freestyle. “If I weren’t doing FMX now, I’d probably still be working construction.”
Beau’s obviously glad he’s not working construction, as throughout his career he has racked up six X Games appearances. He had one of his best seasons last year, recording an unbelievable 13 wins in 15 events, doubling the win total of champion Jake Windham.
“I’m happy with the way last season went,” Beau says. When asked about this year, he says, “My goal for the future is to just continue evolving and winning.”
